Origins
Quentin Boller, Founder and President of Schloss Projects, began transforming outdoor spaces during childhood, largely using materials and plants sourced from the property itself. Boller started his own landscaping firm at age 18 providing services across several US states. However, he became disillusioned with traditional landscaping practices and stepped away from lawncare to focus on sustainable, ecological landscape design and installation. Today, Schloss Projects Inc. is solely focused on the preservation of our environment through our design and installations. We want you to become part of our story and help us continue to make our greater vision a powerful reality.
Background
Impact
Traditional landscaping practices consume enormous amounts of water, fuel, and chemical inputs. Ecological landscaping offers a more sustainable alternative by working with native ecosystems rather than against them. Residential outdoor water use accounts for roughly 30% of household water consumption nationwide, and significantly more in dryer climates. Ecological landscapes are designed to require less water, reduce chemical dependency, lower maintenance demands, and thrive naturally in your local climate. We believe that landscapes should give back more than they take, just as nature intended; a beautiful landscape should conserve resources, support biodiversity, and feel deeply connected to the earth.
Goals
The impact of the work we do has the power to transform our world and our environment. We are thankful for all of our clients as you hold the keys to help us continue transforming our world and creating a better future for generations to come. What drives us more than anything else is the goal to bring sustainable beauty and lasting life to you through the environments we create. We hope that we can spread our enthusiasm and create a wave of positive change and innovation - with your help. Our goals are to reduce outdoor water use by 50-80%, reduce carbon emissions from gas mowers and fertilization, and increase biodiversity and pollinator recovery - all while making our earth more beautiful.
